Colorado Youth Education in Shooting Sports
Youth clay target shooting across Colorado — find a team, learn how it works, or register for a tournament.
Divisions are based on school grade, not age. Athletes complete six practice sessions before competing, and every team practices under adult supervision - safety comes first.
Novice - 6th grade and under
Intermediate - 7th – 8th grade
Jr Varsity - 9th grade / first-year competitors
Senior - 10th – 12th grade
Collegiate - enrolled in college, meets eligibility

Most coaches aren’t former competitive shooters. If you can run a safe, organized practice and want to help kids learn the sport, you have what it takes.
COYESS doesn’t require a specific gun, gauge, or brand. New to the sport and don’t own one yet? Come to a practice and let a coach help guide you through a decision.
